Ever entered the wrong PIN twice yet somehow believe that magic will occur on the third try? Don’t deny it. You’ve been a victim of this illogical thinking at least once in your lifetime. And spoiler alert to the few of you that haven’t: nothing good ever comes from it. Why? Because, you’ll only block your bank card. 🙄 Thankfully, those dark times will remain in the past after reading this. Here’s how to solve the problem quickly without the hassle. You’re welcome. 😉

Blocking your bank card is not the be-all and end-all. You can usually:

  • Unblock your bank card at an ATM.

  • Call your bank

    • They may offer PIN unblock services over the phone.

Unblock your bank card at an ATM

If you often find yourself in this pickle, the ATM will be your best friend. Why? Because you can unblock your PIN super simply. All you’ll need to do is go to the ATM, pop in your bank card and PIN as requested. Next, you’ll need to select ‘PIN services’ and then ‘PIN unblock’ and ta-daaaa! Just like magic – you’ve unblocked your bank card.

Most UK ATM’s offer this service.

What this service won’t do, is tell you your PIN. So, if it’s slipped your mind, give your bank a ring to see what services they offer.

Another option is to call your bank. They may be able to unblock your card on the phone. Be sure to have all your personal details handy. They’ll more than likely ask you a few security questions.

And there you have it. The next time you block your bank card you can get it sorted in minutes without the hassle and without the faff. These things happen to the best of us, unfortunately. Although, just putting it out there😉, if you were using a Curve card, forgetting your PIN wouldn’t be an issue. Why? You can view your PIN inside the app whenever you like. You could also receive 1 % instant Curve Cash at selected retailers on your purchases too👀. Just saying 😏.

If you’re unlucky enough to block your bank card again, at least you’re a little more clued up on what your next steps could be…
